Knock me down with a feather

When was the last time you were surprised?  Like really, full on surprised?

In the October school holidays my project with the kids was to make a piece of art to enter into the 200 Show which runs every year in The Arts Village.  There were 3 canvases in the pack so the kids insisted that I make something too.  I didn't like my first attempt but it seemed a shame to throw it away so I decided to paint some dots over it.

We dropped off our pieces, we went to take some pictures with them once the exhibition opened, we went to visit them one day we had lunch in town.  Other than that we pretty much forgot about them till we got the email saying the exhibition was over and it was time to pick them up.

In we went to collect them.  Dara found his, Kiera found hers.  Couldn't see mine on the first table, couldn't see mine on the second table.  Figured there must be more stored somewhere else.  No, everything that's left is on the two tables.  "Someone must have taken mine by mistake" I thought to myself "that's a bit weird".

Then it finally dawned on me.  Someone must have bought it!!!!  No, surely not?  Went to check with the office, lo and behold, someone did buy it.  Surprised?  I was gobsmacked.  And how often can you say that in your everyday life?
