Apologies for the lack of posts, I am on the PTA of my children's school and we had our biggest fundraiser of the year on Friday so February has been a total write off. I knew things would get busy around the time of the fundraiser but I didn't anticipate just how much of my time it would suck up. The blog has been sorely neglected for the last month. I had great intentions of pre-loading a couple of posts and sticking one up as and when I could but as the gala approached and the to do list got longer and longer, everything that was not essential took a back seat. The kids were clothed, fed (jam sandwiches 3 days in a row for lunch - does jam count as one of their 5 a day?) and just about washed and that was about as much as I could find the time to do.
After taking Saturday to recover from my 7.45am - 9.15pm shift the day before (I am so out of practice being on my feet that long!), today I faced into the reality of what happens when you do the bare minimum for a month. Here's what I found:
- Every bed in the house needed to be stripped - did my own, the kids can wait because....
- Both laundry baskets were full to the brim - this is why I like to have an underwear drawer full to bursting. I can go a loooooong time before running out of clean pants.
- Every floor in the house is in desperate need of hoovering, washing or generally having the assorted rubbish that has congregrated on it removed.
- The bathrooms - I'm not even going to elaborate.
